RANDALL PRESCOTT

 

 

   Randall Prescott is one of Canada’s most awarded producer’s, with Gold and Platinum records to his credit.

   Grammy nomination in 1999 for Best Engineered Album- Robbie Robertson’s “Contact from the Underworld of Redboy”

   Won Aboriginal Producer of the Year Award, alongside Tom Jackson

   Has produced great Dene and Inuit artists such as Stephen Kakfwi, David Gon, John Landry, Tom Hudson, Charlie Panagoniak, William Tagoona, Charlie Adams, Mary Baker, Anita Issuluk, and many others.

   Recipient of 3 Juno Awards

   Produced 3 Susan Agulkark CDs, and was instrumental in securing Susan a worldwide record deal on EMI Records. 

   Has produced artists including Charlie Major, Patricia Conroy, Colleen Peterson, Prescott-Brown, Tom Jackson, Snoopy’s Country Classiks, and Tudjaat.

   Produced a track on the Neil Young Tribute album “Borrowed Tunes”

   Voted Producer of the Year from 1988-1997 at the Canadian Country Music Awards

   Voted Producer of the Year at the Big Country Awards (RPM Magazine, Toronto) 1988, 1989 and 1992

   Member of the multi award winning Family Brown (inducted into the CCMA Hall of Honour in 1997) and Precott-Brown (Juno Award winners 1993)

   Music Director for several national televised shows such as the First Annual Racism-Stop It Awards and Concert Show 2000, all of the televised CBC- True North Canada Day Specials, and the Wayne Rostad Show.

   Won the Canadian Music Publisher Award (CMPA) in 1990

   Multi instrumentalist, and has won 4 CCMA Awards for Instrumentalist of the Year for his Harmonica work.

   1989 PROCAN and 1990 SOCAN Award for song writing

   Owner of Lakeside Recording Studio ( 2 time Studio of the Year recipient).  Guests have inlcuded Lynne Miles, Dobro Master Jerry Douglas, Eddie Bayers, Matt Rollings, Jeffrey Lesser, and many more.

   Most recent recording project- 10th Anniversary of Nunavut Theme Song, featuring Madeleine Allakarillak

   Completed 2 new Stephen Kakfwi CDs (Former Premier of the Northwest Territories)

   Charity and benefit work

   Producer of 2004-2015 Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train tours, which have raised over 12 million dollars and 3.9 million pounds of food to date.

   Organized benefit in September 2003 for British Columbia Fire Relief featuring Michelle Wright, Chantal Kreviazuk, Natalie Macmaster, and Matther Good.  The benefit raised over $100,000 for the North Thompson Fire Relief Fund.

   Randall was instrumental in the organization and success of the Power Aid Concert and Fundraiser in Ottawa in 1998, to help the victims of the Ice Storm.  The event raised over 6 million dollars.

   Produced the World’s first 9/11 Benefit event that raised several hundred thousand dollars for families of victims.
